Thanks for joining us this week at My City Church! This week Pastor Jesse dove into the collection of talks entitled 'The Church' with a message titled: 'A Bold Mission'

As children begin to grow up, we often times as them 'what do you want to be when you grow up?' And this can be confusing with how we express it. We are more asking them what they want to DO rather than what they want to BE. That is because The Church is designed to BE a people we are becoming rather than a place we go. If we can become The Church, the people we will BE will far exceed the things that we DO. Proper doing will come out when we know who we are becoming.

Matthew 28:16-20 (NKJV): “Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

God has something for you to do! He knows that when we understand who we are to be we will then be able to understand what great doing. Therefore, it is not by self effort that we are going to grow closer into what God has for us, but through response to God that will grow us further.

Here's the thing about Jesus: He knows your past and your future. He knows the decisions you've made and the decisions you will make, but He bets on you anyway! He is for you and He is with you always.

God is always with us and therefore we must always be willing to Go! We've touched on this previously, but God will only meet us in our GOING. And you'll never know unless you go! You'll never know what you missed out on unless you go for it. Be on a mission!

Christ left us with a mission: Go out into the world and make disciples! (Mat 28:19) This was the great commission. And it's CO-Mission because Jesus is attached to this! When we go out on a bold mission, it is because we have something greater to attach to! Christ could give us this mission because He went out and did it himself. He told Simon Peter "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers on men." (Mat 4:19).

He doesn't say he might. He says it confidently and boldly. This means when we go out on our missions, align them with your passions and go confidently in what God has for you! God wants us to flourish in every sphere of life. It won't be easy. Love takes choice. It wasn't easy for Jesus to go to the cross, but he knew that LOVE DEMANDED that He go to the cross.

As you go out into the world this week, remember to do just that: go! Through that action of going and aligning yourself to God, you will begin to see vision for the mission you are carrying out. Align your mission to God's mission and watch the person you are becoming change and grow!
