THE CHURCH: A BIG VISION RECAP
Have you ever waited so long for something it seems like it will never come? Like a movie, or a book, or even the holidays? You try to pass the time doing other things, and it seems like it will never come. But when it does, it surpasses all your wildest dreams, and you know all the waiting was worth it!
Did you know sometimes we have to wait for what God’s plan is for us? In the “microwave” society we have today, we want things now. But sometimes, we have to wait or even go through trials and pain before we can get to the end. It can be difficult and annoying, and sometimes we want to quit or give up. But here is the promise God gives us, He sent His Son to walk in our shoes, to go through times of waiting, times of trials, times of pain, so when we go through those situations, He is right there with us.
Not only does He walk with us through the good times and bad, but He gives us a vision, or a “preview”, that shows us will is to come. The vision is to sustain us, to give us something to fight for, something to wait for. Our vision begins with Jesus. This vision that He gives us causes us to see things we have never seen before, or feel things we have never felt before. This vision of the future gives our life passion. This passion is what allows us to power through even the darkest of times. To say, “I can” when others are saying “you can’t”. To get through the pain and the trials, we must hold tight to the passion that has been given to us by Jesus’ vision for our lives.
Is everyday going to be easy? No. Are there going to be times where we want to give up and say it isn’t worth it? Oh yeah. Sometimes we put on lenses which make us feel like we don’t deserve to be blessed with these visions. Things like insecurity, or offense, or bitterness can impact how we see the vision or how we will see it come to pass. These lenses are lies we tell ourselves of why we can’t move forward and move out of our past. But the awesome thing is, no matter what, we can lean into the fact Jesus is right there with us. He has a lens for us that is His view of what our life is like, what His identity of us is. He continues to provide the path which leads us to the vision we were promised.
WE have a future and a promise from God. He has bigger things planned for us than we can even imagine. The best is truly yet to come in our lives and in My City Church. Don’t give up. Don’t quit. Remember the vision given to us gives us passion to get through the waiting and the hard times. Lean on Jesus. He will not give up on us.
