21 Days of Prayer & Fasting
Topic: #PRAYFIRST | Our World
Acts 1:8 (NIV) - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
This passage of scripture tells us we will receive power to reach our city, then our nation, then our world. The message of Jesus is to be spread throughout the entire earth. We truly are to have a heart to reach those that are closest to us, but it cannot stop there. We need to have a heart to reach our world.
Often times it is easy to turn a blind eye to those who are far away from us. There is so much hurting and pain in the world. We may not be able to travel to every place on the earth, but we can pray. Prayer can reach into every part of this world.
Today let's develop a heart for a people that we may never meet. My challenge to you today is to find a place in the world that needs your prayers. If you are looking for a place to start praying for look in the 10/40 window.
The 10/40 Window is a term coined by Christian missionary strategist to refer to those regions of the eastern hemisphere, plus the European and African part of the western hemisphere, located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator, a general area that was reported to have the highest level of socioeconomic challenges and least access to the Christian message and Christian resources on the planet.
This is a part of the world that needs the message of Jesus. Today let's focus our prayers on this part of the world. Much of the persecuted church can be found in this part of the world. Daily many Christians give their lives for Jesus in the 10/40 window. Let's pray for their safety and that the message of Jesus would be spread.
Get to know what is going on in the global church. Never take for granted the freedom we have in our nation to worship and build the church. Many parts of the world need our prayers. So let us pray.
Jesus we are asking you to move in the 10/40 window. May you give your followers boldness and protection as they preach the Gospel. We ask you to use us to pray, give, and go to the ends of the earth.
