21 Days of Prayer & Fasting
Topic: #PRAYFIRST | Leadership Development
Ephesians 4:11-16 (ESV) - And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
The primary function of the local church is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Each person that says yes to Jesus has a calling. That calling must be developed and realized for kingdom purposes. This process of leadership development is key to reaching the lost and building the local church.
The local church moves forward at the pace of it's leadership development. There are several key components to this process.
1. Establishing discipleship foundation.
This foundation is one based on an effective relationship with God. Prayer, reading the Bible, and healthy relationships are some of the key components of this foundation.
2. Equipping believers by discovering their purpose.
Each person has a purpose, and one of the primary jobs of the local church is to help each person discover it.
3. Empowering believers to make a difference.
Each person needs to be given opportunity to take their purpose and gifts and use it to make a difference.
It is in this process that leadership development begins and never stops. We need to be praying for the leadership development process at My City Church. That people would engage in the process. Our church will move forward in a powerful way when people rise up in their God given purpose.
Be in pray for the leadership development process at My City Church. That people would engage in the process and discover how to make a difference. This begins by praying for those that are already in leadership to have a passion to live out Ephesians 4 and equip the saints for the work of the ministry.
