DON'T ROB ME OF MY BLESSING

MALACHI 3:8-12

“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, “In what way have we robbed You?” In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. And try me now in this, “Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you int he field,” says the Lord of hosts; “And all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says the Lord of hosts.

The prophet Malachi was the bearer of this “great” news. It feels like tough love doesn’t it?

The Israelites have forgotten to put God first. They’ve gotten into things they shouldn’t have and really lost sight of their Savior and their Lord.

Well, nothing really has changed until today. The word is timeless and perfect in our time as well.

Pastor Jesse spoke of a generous heart in every aspect of our lives. We reap what we sow with our time, our talents, our treasures, relationships etc.

We have to make a decision which of the three wills on this earth we are going to give the most attention:

  1. God’s Will
  2. The Enemy’s Will
  3. Our Will

The Bible talks about money more than anything else. The word tithe actually means ten percent. God wants the first fruits that we are getting.

We let our actions show our generosity. We are generous with our time, talent and with our resources. We understand that God’s church moves forward when we lead the way in generosity.

One of My City Church CORE VALUES is “GENEROUS IN ACTION” as we seek to live this out!

Where our treasure is, there our heart is, also. It doesn’t matter so much what you have, rather, what you do with what you have.

In the above scripture God is saying “test me in this” (he is speaking of finances). Did you know that this is the only time God is saying to his people that he wants to be tested? This is incredible: if we are obedient in every area of our lives, then we want to be obedient with what we have financially as well because God wants our hearts more than anything.

When we step into God’s Will with our finances in tithing and whatever he is putting on our heart, blessings are waiting to happen.

We want to take a risk and stretch our faith in this. We are going to be taking a three month tithe challenge as entire church! Please click the button below to learn more!
